Campaign

GenerationYM has worked with Scannx since inception in 2011. From 2011, we've been involved in Scannx Book Scancenter branding and marketing. Branding wise, we've built their website, created promotional Materials like brochures, data sheets, and designed social media templates. Marketing wise, we have managed email campaigns and also assisted in trade-show materials and provided brand ambassador services.

Event & Conference Marketing

The most effective marketing strategy for scannx at the moment (since they are a startup) is to display machines and generate leads at library conferences and follow up with emails that drive the pre-qualified leads to an opt-in form. Every year, thousands of librarians attend conferences, seeking out new technology to provide their patrons and staff. Scannx has a booth at most of these conferences, where they set up a banner, provide information, and have at least 4 machines on display to demo to Librarians. We have developed promotional materials for these trade shows, assisted in booth layout and provided brand ambassador services as well. Our team, typically of 4 will attend the show, generate a buzz at and around the booth, demo the machine and film live testimonials from customers and people who just saw the demo for the first time. We have been able to double lead activity by assisting in brand ambassador services alone. We typically acquire around 500 prospects within a two day period.

Meet Imogen "FoxyLocks Extensions" the #1 Choice for Hair Extensions

Imogen "FoxyLocksExtensions" is a hair stylist and the owner of the brand Foxy Locks Extensions. Based out of London, she shares all kinds of hair tutorials and sells extensions in an online store. Imogen is very talented with hair, and her products are beautiful, high quality and really natural looking, so they've become popular among teens and girls in their 20's. Imogen's YouTube channel has over 66 million video views and over 285,000 subscribers.

Design

It was really fun to work on Imogen's branding. She really didn't have a layout before, so it was fun to create it from scratch. I wanted to make the layout work with her logo, so I kind of worked around it and stylized everything to match that branding.

Meet "The World's Only White Comedian"

Jason Horton is a popular actor, producer and sketch writer who creates som of the funniest original content on YouTube.  His channel has over 56,000 subscribers, +5 million video views and has starred in, written and co-produced videos on the youtube that have received hundreds of millions of views. He has collaborated with some of today's most popular YouTubers such as Nikki Limo, TotallySketch, Jenna Marbles, and a variety of others.  Jason is extremely funny, talented, and creative - It has been a pleasure to work with him.

Design

Jason's project includes a Web design, Logo and Social Designs.  We wanted to create a professional, but still fun brand that incorporated Jason's character - brining together his creative comedian side and his professional improve and sketch writing side.

Logo & Branding

For Jason's Logo, we started with his mascot. He wanted a cartooon character for his branding, which is always fun to have for products, youtube layouts and other promotional pieces.  We made the character professional, with an nerdy/awkward yet cool edge (the glasses, expression, etc).

We decided to go with cool blue color tones, and black and white for text and elements we wanted to pop out. We occasionally bring in hand written text to bring the 'indie/organic/sketch' side of his personality into the designs.

His headline "The World's Only White Male Comedian" is pretty funny, so we wanted to make the text pop - so the viewer is sure to see it and laugh. We decided to go with a bold font with subtle styling to keep it clean.

YouTube

We wanted to keep Jason's YouTube layout clean and professional, but still fun.  We decided to go with a 'minimalistic' template, keeping the creative work in the banner along with the navigation and nothing on the sides of the layout.

The background is blue textured around the top to make it stand out. We also placed about 13 links in the banner, 3 of which are thumbnails that link to playlists. We like to put playlists in the banner because sometimes they can go unseen on the channel page.  Keeping playlists in the banner is also a great idea because it gives the viewer options that don't take them away from the youtube channel like the other links, so they can continue to watch and have fun seeing videos they may have missed!

We wanted to work with Hannah as soon as we saw her videos, so when we met her at VidCon 2012, we couldn't resist but ask her if she's interested in having our design team work with her branding.  Working with her has been incredible, every communication with her makes us smile and laugh.  She's really creative and has a very unique kind of brand, so it was really fun to come up with this layout for her. We wanted to make her channel branding a blend of class and grunge, since she's totally edgy and funny but also very classy. So we decided to take some elements from her website, which had a very classy look and add some edge to it with cartoon kitchen utensils and cool dark textures.
